For the past twelve years Rush Athletics has hosted a track meet to raise funds for their travel grant. This premiere meet is a “hardware show” because it offers medals to the top eight individuals in each event in each age division and the trophies to the top five teams. This year we want to award every single athlete competing in the meet. That means that those athletes who have set personal records after personal records during summer month, but never achieving the top eight status in their event will still walk away with a medal. Yes, EVERY ATHLETE will receive a medal for EVERY EVENT they compete in!

In 2019, Helen Scott-Owens, the grandmother of Coach Nicole Lincoln, passed away the morning of Rush’s track meet. During the meet, Coach Lincoln renamed it in Helen’s honor. In 2021, in addition to the above mentioned medals and trophies, the Helen Scott-Owens Prestigious Athletic award was introduced and given to the top meet participants in the 12&under boy and girl, 13&up boy and girl, and Open/Master man and woman divisions. These awards have been the highlight of the meet.
